KingBank Product Warranty Terms

Dear User:

Thank you for your support and use of KingBank Technology products. If you have any questions during the use of KingBank products, please feel free to contact us through online customer service or the technical support center phone in the first instance (400-098-6157).

KingBank Technology will provide warranty services to consumers in accordance with the relevant regulations. The detailed terms are as below.

For DRAM

I. Warranty Statement

KingBank Technology promises consumers that the products are free of defects in manufacturing and materials. Within the normal warranty period, if it is proven that the product has functional failures or material defects, KingBank Technology will provide services to consumers by repairing or replacing products of the same grade and capacity, and promises that they have the same functions as brand new products.

Replacement criteria: For new product with failures, a replacement claim can be raised within 7 days of purchase. Please provide purchase proof (warranty card and invoice), the product, compact packaging and all accessories. Replacement will only be provided after tests confirmed that no action out of warranty terms toward the product is conducted; for claims exceeding the warranty period, they will be handled according to repair procedures.

The accessories that come with the product are not covered by the warranty service.

II. Warranty Period

KingBank Technology provides limited lifetime warranty service for memory products (until 1 year after product discontinuation). From the date of sale, if problems listed in the “Microcomputer Product Performance Failure For” occur during normal use of the product, and the product is within the valid warranty scope, the corresponding services can be enjoyed.

If the damaged components of the product are discontinued and the corresponding components cannot be found on the market, KingBank Technology will negotiate with you to replace other products at depreciated prices.

III. Situations Not Covered by the Warranty

KingBank Technology will be unable to provide warranty services in the following situations:

(1) Memory without faults;

(2) Memory with physical damage, oxidation or rust due to improper use or environmental reasons, such as deformation, falling off, burning, housing deformation or fracture, PCB burnout, etc.;

(3) The original product label/tamper-evident seal is altered, lost, moved, mismatched, damaged or unrecognizable;

(4) Damage caused by human negligence or misuse, or unavoidable external forces, such as water immersion, fire, abnormal voltage, falling, impact, extrusion, vibration and other mechanical damage;

(5) Damage caused by failure to operate, use, maintain and store according to the instructions;

IV. Installation Instructions and Precautions

1. Installation Instructions

(1) Please be sure to confirm the computer power is off and the power cord is unplugged before installation.

(2) Before touching any electronic components or removing memory, please be sure to first contact objects that can discharge static electricity, or wear anti-static wrist straps/gloves.

(3) Check if all slots on the motherboard are populated before purchasing or installing memory products.

(4) When installing products, push down the clips on the slot and the product can be popped out for replacement. Please note the notch on the memory module must be aligned with the protrusion on the slot. Push the memory module into the slot with appropriate force, and the clips will automatically lock.

(5) Some motherboards require special procedures for installation, please refer to the motherboard or computer manuals for installation. Please be sure to plug and unplug the memory according to the computer manual, and ensure the memory is firmly installed in the slot.

(6) Please refer to the computer manual for memory related settings and debugging operations. The company is not responsible for hardware or system damage caused by human operational errors.

2. Precautions

(1) Regarding Voltage: Please follow the voltage marked on the product label or product advertisement.

(6) The company cannot provide replacement services with specified memory chips, or products of different capacities.

V. Disclaimer

KingBank Technology is only responsible for the repair and testing of its own products, and does not provide data recovery and backup services for product storage. KingBank Technology shall not be liable for any loss of profit, expected cost loss, accidental or derivative loss caused by data loss stored in the products, or any compensation arising therefrom.

The company reserves the right to identify the causes of failures for KingBank Technology storage products and the final interpretation of the above terms.

For SSD

KingBank Technology provides 3 years of limited warranty for solid state drives (from the 1st to the 3rd year after sale). From the date of sale, if problems listed in the “Microcomputer Product Performance Failure For” occur during normal use of the product, and the product is within the valid warranty scope, the corresponding services can be enjoyed.

When consumers can provide valid purchase certificate documents (such as delivery note, uniform invoice, etc.), the warranty period is calculated from the date of product purchase; if unable to provide purchase certificate documents, the warranty period is calculated from the factory production date.

If the damaged components of the product are discontinued and the corresponding components cannot be found on the market, KingBank Technology will negotiate with you to replace other products at depreciated prices.

III. Situations Not Covered by the Warranty

KingBank Technology will be unable to provide warranty services in the following situations:

2.Solid State Drives

(1)Solid state drives without faults;

(2)Solid state drives exceeding warranty period/total write volume (TBW). Drives have warranty expired upon 2 situations, which are a)3 years of warranty period, and b) the total written data exceeds a certain value.

Take KingBank Technology 128GB solid state drive as an example. If the purchase time exceeds 3 years or the written bytes reach 70TB, both cases are considered end of warranty. The total write volumes for each model and capacity are as follows:

60GB Total Write Volume 30TB

120GB/128GB Total Write Volume 70TB

240GB/256GB Total Write Volume 150TB

480GB/512GB Total Write Volume 300TB

960GB/1TB Total Write Volume 600TB

2TB Total Write Volume 1200TB

(Write volume varies from product models and adopted solutions. Above data is for warranty policy reference. Actual write volume (TBW) is as advertised for each model. Please refer to the actual product.)

(3)Physical damage to solid state drives due to improper use, such as deformed, detached or burnt interface, housing deformation or fracture, PCB burnout, oxidation or rust;

(4)The original product label/tamper-evident seal is altered, lost, moved, mismatched, damaged or unrecognizable;

(5)Damage to solid state drives caused by human negligence or misuse, or unavoidable external forces, such as water immersion, fire, abnormal voltage, falling, impact, extrusion, vibration and other mechanical damage. Damage caused by improper use according to instructions;

(6)Damage to faulty solid state drives during transportation for repair due to improper packaging or transportation operations;

(7)Solid state drives that cannot be restored due to any unauthorized disassembly, repair or replacement of components;

(8)Products purchased through unauthorized distributor channels, second-hand resale channels, or resold in violation of import and export regulations of various countries.

IV. Installation Instructions and Precautions

1. Installation Instructions

(1) Please be sure to confirm the computer power is off and the power cord is unplugged before installation.

(2) Before touching any electronic components or removing the SSD, please be sure to first contact objects that can discharge static electricity, or wear anti-static wrist straps/gloves.

(3) Check if all slots on the motherboard are populated before purchasing or installing solid-state drives.

(4) The newly-installed solid state drive needs to be allocated before use (there is no display of disk capacity in “My Computer”). Please be noted that a new partition must be created before its normal use. For new models of motherboards, there could be situations of failed recognition of the SSD. Please note that it is due to the upgraded USB controller chip instead of a product quality issue. Please try to recognize the SSD through Win10 PE or original Win10 systems. Contact customer services for installation videos and testing tools for hard drives.

(5) Please refer to the manuals of your motherboard and other hardware for a proper installation of the SSD.

2. Precautions

(1) Please note that M.2 NVME SSDs cannot be backward compatible with M.2 SATA3 SSDs. There are three channel modes for M.2 SSDs: PCle3.0x4/PCle3.0x2/sata3.0. Except for MSI laptop M.2 slots that are fully compatible with PCle3.0x2, laptops usually only support one of them. The M.2 interface of some desktops will shield SATA5 and SATA6 interfaces. Please refer to your computer manufacturers customer service or motherboard manual.

(2) Read and write speeds: The speeds identified on storage products may vary due to the hardware, software, and usage environment. This is normal and not a product quality issue.

(3) Actual capacity: The capacity of storage products when shipped from the factory is usually calculated as 1MB=1000KB, 1GB=1000MB, while the operating system uses binary algorithms: 1MB=1024KB, 1GB=1024MB. In addition, part of the listed capacity on the device is used for formatting and other functions, not all for data storage. When storage products are shipped from the factory, information such as drivers and identification codes will be written, so the actual capacity of this product is of or more than 90% of the nominal capacity.

(4) Heating: It is normal for storage products to generate heat during use. When the product is connected and powered on for data transfer such as read/write operations, the electronic components inside the product will dissipate heat. Depending on the power-on time and frequency of read/write operations, different level of heating will occur. The chips inside the product can withstand high temperatures, so there is no need to worry about the normal heating during use.

(5) Please back up important data in this product regularly; the company is not responsible for any loss caused by loss of data.

(6) When the company repairs defective products, all data in the product will be cleared and the product will be restored to factory default settings.

(7) In order to provide a better service experience, some product repairs will be handled by replacement with spare parts, so the repaired product may not be the same as the original one sent for repair.

(8) The company cannot provide replacement services for specifying storage chips, or products with different capacities.
