Nowadays DDR5 memory modules are no longer at a skyrocketing price. The prevalence of this new generation of DRAMs has granted them a user-friendly cost performance like those of DDR4. And today we have KingBank SharpBlade RGB DDR5-6400 Gaming Memory modules. The KingBank SharpBlade RGB DDR5-6400 16G*2 memory kit adopts Hynix A-die chip, operating up to 6400MT/s at CL32 which guarantees a great potential on

overclocking up to 7000MHz.

Appearance

The KingBank SharpBlade RGB DDR5-6400 gaming memory kit (16G*2) is wrapped in a stylish black package, with the company logo neatly laid at the center.

On the back of the package box, there are two windows to see the labeled memory sticks, with product name, CAS latency and the default frequency displayed. Since the advertised 6400MHz is the one-click XMP profile value, if your motherboard does not support overclocking up to that frequency, the memory modules will just work at the defaulted frequency stated on your device.

Unbox them and we can see the white glaze-painted modules, armored with soft-textured heat sinks.

The upper side is the LED strip in matte design, granting a softened even light during use.

Check closer and we can see the brand name KingBank printed atop the LED strip. Using Hynix A-die chip, these memory modules are of great potential to be overclocked to over 8000MHz.

Upon the heat sink labeled a spec sticker. And the stated 6400MHz here will be achieved with a motherboard of 6400MHz and above. Mine is MSI Z690, which supports DDR5 DRAM overclocking.

Overclocking

Before enabling the XMP profile, ensure that your motherboards BIOS is updated to the latest version, which has debugged the previous versions and added some new functions for higher stability.

Boot your computer and enter BIOS, and we can see options of Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) and iEXPO under Overclocking interface. Here let me chime in a bit: EXPO is the name for DDR5 DRAM overclocking introduced by AMD platforms when releasing RYZEN 7000 series, and iEXPO is MSIs reference of the EXPO overclocking for Z690 motherboards after updating the BIOS, which one-click overclocking setup defaulted by AMD will also be supported.

So here I chose XMP to enable an easier and more stable one-click overclocking. Choose 6400MHz and the timing goes to 32-39-39-80 and the voltage now works at 1.4V.

Above are the pictures of KingBank SharpBlade RGB DDR5-6400 modules benchmarking at the overclocked 6400MHz and the default 4800MHz. The results show a significantly improved performance of the memory kit.

Then go back to BIOS and click on OC to find Memory Try It to enable memory profile up to 6800MHz at CL38. It is one-click overclocking without manually adjusting other specs.

Save and then exit. And if after several times of overclocking failure to the set frequency value, Memory Try It will automatically switch to BIOS to let you manually adjust the values.

Above is the benchmarking through AIDA64. Smooth as it goes and we can push it a bit higher.

To enable the memory modules to work at 7200MT/s, and the voltage goes up to 1.5V, so the working temperature goes a bit higher too. At this time, a boosted-up heat dissipation system is needed.

Again, cache and memory benchmarking goes well as shown in the AIDA64.

But alas, limited by my motherboard, the memory modules can only run up to 7200MHz. A bit higher of the memory frequency would fail the operation system.

Conclusion

The test results show that the KingBank SharpBlade RGB DDR5-6400 16G×2 memory modules are really worth the boast of high performance at a user-friendly price in a nice-textured style. Adopting Hynix A-Die chip, the memory kit support Intel XMP3.0 one-click overclocking, and can even go more potential in overclocking in keeping with the whole performance of the motherboard.
