Review: KingBank KP260-2TB SSDIssuing time:2023-05-25 10:11 To upgrade my poorly assembled PC, I chose the KingBank KP260-2TB SSD which is advertised to have a rather high-speed reading and writing performance. Unboxing >>> Wrapped in a typical white box with neat lining and a window on the right side to see the product. On the bottom left sit two icons about its 3-year product warranty. On the back of the package there are information of product features and functions. Unbox it and we can see a bare KP260 SSD, a heatsink, a thermopad, a user manual and some fixing screws. Features >>> KingBank KP260 SSD uses Maxio MAP 1602A-F2C as the main controller, which is a 12nm 4-channel DRAM-less chip, meeting the PCIe Gen4*4 NVMe 2.0 standard. With a CPU core of ARM R5, the SSD though DRAM-less can still unleash the due PCIe 4.0 performance, going up to 2400MT/s. With four chips laid on one side, the KingBank KP260 SSD features a slim design to fit for both desktops and laptops. Plus a low price tag of 558 yuan on JD.com and a metal heatsink makes this 2TB SSD really competitive. Testing >>> Test Platform CPU: Intel Core i5-11400 Motherboard: MSI B560M Memory: Gloway DDR4-3200 16GB Storage: KingBank KP260 2TB With CrystalDiskInfo, we can see that the SSD uses the 2nd generation of X-tacking chips from YMTC with a bandwidth of 1600MT/s, supporting S.M.A.R.T., TRIM and VolatileWriteCache. It takes PCIe4.0x4 as its interface which meets the NVMe 1.4 standard. The temperature stays at 57℃ during the test. Performance Test through the CrystalDiskMark, KingBank KP260-2TB SSD measured a read speed at 4853.85MB/s and a write speed at 4379.44MB/s, just as advertised. In AS SSD Benchmark, KingBank KP260-2TB measured a read speed at 4196.74MB/s, and a write speed at 3978.07MB/s, scoring at 2555/2932 respectively. A total score of 6782 is a rather sound performance. Next test the KingBank KP260-2TB through TxBench, and it’s reading at 4814.191MB/s and writing at 4214.259MB/s.
In ATTO Disk Benchmark, results show that KingBank KP260-2TB strikes a maximum read speed at 4.16GB/s and a max write speed at 4.47GB/s. Conclusion This KingBank KP260-2TB SSD does boast an excellent performance, low operating temperature and a wide compatibility. Its affordability makes it a rather budgety choice for most users to upgrade your device storage capacity.
