Review: KingBank DDR5 6800MHz Heatsink Gaming DRAM

CPU and GPU are what most people are into while building a PC, and SSD storage expansion while upgrading a device. Typically, the often-forgotten memory modules are the key to decide how far you can go for your device revamp. With my i5-13490F+RTX3060Ti PC, I upgrade the RAM with KingBank DDR5 6800MHz Heatsink Gaming DRAM, leveling up the performance at a rather low budget.

⭕ Total Impression

Being a frequenter of KingBank products, I chose DDR5 6800MHz Heatsink Gaming DRAM this time with SK Hynix A-Die chip. This model features stable performance, high overclocking capability and broad comaptibility.

With a more sophisticated 10-layer PCB design, the modules are fully amped up to provide the device with a more steady power management.

Styling a black metallic heatsink, these modules are really a nice pick for gamers.

And it is necessary to spread the heat amid the high-frequency operation with high power consumption. That's why a heatsink always comes with the latest generation of gaming memory modules.

图片

Wrapping the modules on both sides with 2mm wide each, this heatsink feels heavy in the hand, weighing 61g for a 16GB RAM stick.

Visually speaking, the heat spreader features a matte black with a smooth metallic texture, which matches a black-style motherboard with a touch of luxury.

This gaming model has another version with LED light to fit for the ARGB adjustment. Of course, shop KingBank store for more choices.

Below is a real shot for installed modules, well, a low-profile blend-in look on the motherboard.

Below is the performance benchmarking comparision between the default 4800MHz and the XMP 6800MHz, striking a score of 269,768 and 369,225 respectively. Quite a boost-up.

⭕ Overclocking Try

With select Hynix A-Die chips, these modules feature a high overclocking capacity. For OC enthusiasts, manual adjusting to reach a higher XMP profile.

图片

These modules support one-click overclocking. Go to XMP in BIOS and enable the XMP 6800MHz at CL34-45-45-108, saving time and energy to manual adjustment to achieve a higher frequency use.

图片

From benchmarking on AIDA64, latency goes from 92.2ns at the default 4800MHz to 71.4ns at XMP 6800MHz, a 22.5% speed improvement. Also, performance on reading, writing and copying goes up to 94980MB/s, 86883MB/s, and 85244MB/s respectively.

图片

Besides, on keeping the latency at 34-45-45-108, I overclocked the modules to 7200MHz. After 3 rounds of testing with TestMem5, no faults were detected. The gaming DRAM kits are working smooth at 7200MHz, striking a rather high score in benchmarking too.

图片

From AIDA64 benchmarking, reading went up to 101.6GB/s, writing to 93963GB/s, and copying to 92486MB/s, with the latency going down to 69.8ns.

But with my ASUS 760M motherboard limiting a memory OC to 7200MHz, I could not overclock these modules up even 100MHz without adjusting the timings and voltages, or they would fail the booting. Anyways, with SK Hynix A-Die chips, KingBank DDR5 6800MHz Heatink Gaming DRAM can surely get an amped-up performance.

So why all the fuss to get faster-running memory modules? Faster loading of software and a quicker and more steady operation of the computer at a cut-down latency. I've got a speed-up running of the 7-ZIP compression with a lower CPU occupation, and a smoother switching amid different interfaces.

If you're looking for a budgety built of a high-performance gaming PC, besides locating some efficient CPU, GPU and motherboards, keep in mind of a smart pick on memory sticks. This KingBank DDR5 6800MHz Heatsink Gaming DRAM with select chips, high overclocking capability and compatibility, stays my premium recommendation.
